Welcome to the Chardon Fire Department, Ohio Department ProfileThe Chardon Fire Department, Inc. is a combination paid / volunteer incorporated fire department which serves the residents of the City of Chardon, Chardon Township, and Claridon Township in Northeast Ohio (USA). Providing 24-hour Fire and Advanced Life Support EMS coverage to our residents, the department consists of 12 vehicles & over 50 members (6 full-timers). Working from one fire station on the town square in the City of Chardon, Ohio, our average call volume is just under 1600 calls per year, with many of those being EMS oriented. The station is staffed 24 hours a day by at least 4-5 firefighter / paramedics. We are the busiest department in Geauga County.
Community Profile Chardon, Ohio is located 30 miles east of Cleveland, about 7 miles south of Lake Erie. Chardon is the county seat of Geauga County, Ohio, and is considered the heart of the "snow belt", receiving an average of 104 inches of snow yearly, mostly secondary to the "lake effect" snow machine.
