CFD Trucks Advertise Web Presence

Since January, the apparatus at the Chardon Fire Department are sporting the web site logo at part of their decal decor.  The decision was made to include the web site on the trucks because of the unique opportunity it affords the department to notify the public of Chardon Fire's presence on the web.  "In essence, the trucks become a traveling public relations tool", said Capt. John Blauch, CFD Webmaster.  "The methodology of the site design was to allow the public access to information about their fire and rescue services.  Their tax money pays for the trucks, equipment, and personnel staffing.  We felt they have the right to see for themselves what the department is doing to provide them services", Blauch said.  The eventual goal will be to have on-line burn permits, CPR class registration, and many other opportunities for department interaction.  Stay tuned....
