Chardon FD Dedicates Newest Engine to Memory of Former Chief
5/6/01 -- Chardon Village, Ohio The Chardon Fire Department has dedicated it's newest engine 3322 to the memory of former Fire Chief Ed Brick, who died of cancer in 1993. A reflective decal has been placed on Engine 3322 in his memory. Chief Brick served the fire department from 1965-1993 and was an active member until the date of his death. His son, Tim (See top right picture, far left), also served on the department in the 1980's, until moving to the Cleveland area to work as a full-time firefighter. Fire personnel felt it was only fitting to dedicate the pride of their fleet to Chief Brick's memory, as he dedicated so much time to the operation and upkeep of the department's fleet. An official dedication service will took place on May 6, 2001. Many of his family members were present (see pictures above) at the dedication, during the fire department's public open house of the new fire station. Some pictures of Ed Brick during the 60's & 70's are presented below.
