State Of Ohio EMS Grant nets Chardon FD $7,000 for training and equipment 10/2006 -- City of Chardon, Ohio The Chardon Fire Department has been awarded $7,000 in State EMS Grant funds for EMT & Paramedic training and equipment. The money, which is collected from law enforcement seat belt fines, is distributed to applying departments with specific needs. The funds will used to send various Chardon Fire personnel to paramedic & EMT school, continuing education classes, and specialty training programs. Additionally, new equipment including a new stairchair with tracks for steps, advanced life support training manikins, and other items will be purchased. The department applied for this grant yearly, and usually receives around $5000-$7000 in requested equipment and training expenses.
