Chardon FD Takes Delivery of New Utility Truck "3399"

By Chief Engineer Mike Homovec & Firefighter Scott Meyer

4/2000 - The Chardon Fire Department recently took delivery of a new 2000 GMC utility pickup truck.  This multi-purpose truck will be used for Haz-Mat, Water & Rope Rescue, and manpower response.  In the past, it was not uncommon for personnel to shuttle dirty, rolled hose from fire scenes back to the station in their personal vehicles, as we had not utility vehicle suited to hauling hose.  This vehicle will assist us in avoiding this, as well as allowing us to provide better response to specialty situations and manpower calls.  In the event that additional manpower or paramedic personnel is needed on an EMS or fire scene, this vehicle can provide it.

We think it's a pretty sweet looking truck !!  Come see for yourself anytime at the station.

Special thanks to all of the fire personnel who donated many hours towards getting the vehicle in service.
