with Chardon Fire (2003)

resolution. Most scene pictures are taken with a Sony Handicam Camcorder
mounted in Engine 3322. The 8mm film is then processed through a computer and
still shots are obtained using Dazzle Video 80 (Analog) software. Picture quality is
affected by windshield glare, long play resolution, etc.)

Sept. 20, 2003 - One person was critically injured in this car vs. pole
accident at Claridon Rd. & Karen Dr. in Chardon City. The vintage
1960's Buick was a total loss. Pictures taken from 3322 Sony Camcorder.

Sept. 1, 2003 - Engine 3322 crews assess the damage when a storm caused a
downed tree to pull the wires off of this Henning Dr. home in Chardon Twp.,
causing a short that fried most of the appliances in the home. No

Aug. 3, 2003 - One person was transported for smoke inhalation in this fully involved mobile home fire
in Claridon Township. The trailer was a total loss, and the fire was attributed

Aug. 1, 2003 - One thing was for sure at this Claridon Twp. accident; it
"absolutely, positively WON'T be there overnight". Pictures taken

July 29, 2003 - One person was hurt in this motorcycle accident in Chardon
Twp. The Harley Davidson received moderate damage and the driver received minor

July 21, 2003 - A lightning strike at a residential home brought a quick
response by Chardon, Hambden, and Munson Fire Departments. The damage was
confined to the attic, where burning wood supports and wiring were discovered
& extinguished. No one was hurt. Pictures taken with 8mm Camcorder.

July 12, 2003 - It's a Dirty Job, but someone has to do it!! The red
pickup truck lost control, while carrying mulch, scattering it across the road
and all over the car that hit him. Chardon Fire personnel disconnected the
battery from the gray car to prevent a fire. No one was seriously hurt. Pictures taken from 3322 Sony Camcorder.

July 12, 2003 - No one was seriously hurt in this two car accident in

June 7, 2003 - The impact from this two-car accident at Clark Rd. & SR
44 was enough to cause the driver to bend the steering wheel with his body. No
one was seriously injured due to seat belt use and airbags. Pictures taken from 3322 Sony Camcorder.

June 8, 2003 - An overturned SUV, which landed in a creek at Wintergreen
Dr. and Ravenna Rd. in Chardon Twp., caused Chardon Fire crews to deploy
absorbent oil booms. No one was injured. Pictures taken from Kodak

Apr., 2003 - There were no serious injuries at this two-car MVA at Sunshine Dr.

Apr. 9, 2003 - A LifeFlight helicopter surveys the scene (above fire engine)
prior to landing at the scene of a fatal MVA at Clark Rd. and Ravenna Rd. in
Chardon Twp. Four elderly women were in the blue 4-door vehicle, when they
missed a stop sign, striking the pickup. One of the women died in the crash.

Apr. 4, 2003 - Chardon crew members work to assess fire extension in a wall of a
house that caught fire on a rainy, windy day. A faulty battery charger was
to blame for the fire. (Taken with Kodak digital camera).

March, 2003 - Chardon Tanker 3338 operates a master stream deluge gun at a
mutual aid fire at Best Sand Corp., a sand/gravel company in Munson Twp.
The fire was confined to the area shown. This was Snorkel 3349's last
call, before being placed out of service. (Taken by Fire Inspector Bill Crowley
