On-Scene with Chardon Fire (2007)
(FYI - This page will take a few moments to load, as the pictures are in medium resolution. Pictures are taken with a variety of cameras including a Sony Analog Handicam Camcorder mounted in Engine 3324 & digital cameras from other vehicles/personnel. The 8mm analog film from the engine is then processed through a computer and still shots are obtained using VideoWave (Analog) software. Picture quality is affected by windshield glare, long play resolution, etc.)
Above: May, 2007 - (Above) A motorcyclist, who was rear ended at high speed in Chardon City, was sent to an area trauma center via Cleveland Metro LifeFlight. The motorcyclist is slowly recovering, and the driver of the vehicle that hit him was cited. Hambden Fire Dept. assisted at the landing zone.
Above: May, 2007 - (Above) This motor vehicle accident at Clark Rd. & Ravenna Rd. caused multiple patients to go to the hospital.
Above: April, 2007 - Chardon, Hambden, and Burton Fire crews responded to this attached garage fire on Essex Ct. in rural Claridon Twp. The fire was brought under control quickly, and no injuries were reported. Above right, crews worked on finding hot spots in the garage walls.
Above: March, 2007 - This crosswalk was the scene of a car vs. pedestrian accident in Chardon City. The collision caused impact marks on the car.
Above: February, 2007 - Snow causes lots of accident in Geauga County, due to Lake Effect. At top left is another snow-related crash. At top right is our outdoor grill at the fire station. There is over two feet of snow on the top!!

Above: January, 2007 - Minor injuries occurred in this car vs. pole accident on Mentor Rd. at the Lake Co. line. Slippery roads contributed to the car losing control.
Above: January, 2007 - A house fire in a custom-built log home caused a total loss, when fire broke out in near white-out snow conditions. The home was over 6,000 feet from the road, causing water supply nightmares for incoming fire crews. Freezing temperatures further hampered efforts to extinguish the blaze.
